Each year, the Minnesota Percussion Association (MPA) provides four scholarships to deserving MPA performers and eligible instructors. These scholarships provide much-needed funds to support the recipients’ academic and performing arts endeavors.
Our first Giving Tuesday fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you!
$500 — Named Scholarship Sponsor: You have the option for a scholarship for the 2019 season to be named in your or your company's honor.
$250 — Season Scholarship Supporting Sponsor: Your name or company can be promoted as a sponsor for one of the existing scholarships for the 2019 season.
$100 or below — Scholarship Supporter: Your gift helps provide part of a scholarship to a deserving recipient.
All gifts will be recognized in the 2019 MPA Championships program booklet and on our website and social media, and sponsors ($250+) will be announced during the championships awards ceremony as scholarships are presented.
The annual MPA Solo and Ensemble Contest is a great opportunity for students to advance and show off their musicianship skills by preparing a solo or ensemble piece. The 2019 contest will take place March 9 between the afternoon and evening portions of the WGI Minneapolis regional at Dassel-Cokato High School.
Don't forget, you have the option of doing a solo or ensemble on nonpercussion instruments as well as percussion!
Early-bird entry and payment deadline is Feb. 16, 2019, and comes with a $5 discount off the entry fee.
FINAL entry and payment deadline is Feb. 23, 2019.

To ensure MPA is in full compliance with copyright-related laws amid an increasingly tough and uncertain environment for performing arts organizations across the country, the Board of Directors has decided to not post or sell videos of 2016 MPA Championships and beyond for now. We are monitoring the situation and will provide an update when available.
